To all ye bloggers out there I have mentally mocked inside my head for your crappy shoe pictures, I sincerely apologize. Yeah, not quite as easy as it seems. I think I took about 50 pictures in attempts to get some good ones for these reviews, and they're all crappy, but it's better than nothing.
Here goes!
With my discovery of Anthro in the past year, and my subsequent purchase of many many dresses, I have recently realized that I need nice shoes to go with my dresses too. So, here's one to start things off with. This is a stunner! Here's the real life shots:
Ignore ugly feet, please. And yay, ignore the photographer who took two pictures of the same shoe and came out with two different shadings! The first picture shows the blue more closely, and the second picture shoes off the peach shade better. I was undecided at first, primarily because of the heel height. It's 3.5 inches and I usually am more comfortable at 3 inches and lower. These weren't bad to walk in - a little wobbly - but I attribute that to the fact that I'm not not used to the heel height. It also does feel like all your weight is shoved towards your toes, but it's nicely padded. They are TTS - I am normally an 8.5 in unsocked shoes and this fit me perfectly in 8.5. I am leaning towards keeping these as they fit in quite well with my wardrobe, although I anticipate they'll hurt for a bit when I break them in. (I think all shoes, with the exception of sneakers, hurt when I break them in.)
If you can figure out the weird pricing Amazon/Endless have on these flats - where some colors seem to be on sale, some colors seem to be sale + $3, and some seem to be full price - they are a good deal on sale, so I put one of these in with my Pot of Gold order. This is the aqua 8.5. You may notice the previous photo showed a foot in the shoe and this one doesn't. Yeah ... remember earlier when I said taking shoe pictures was hard? I will spare you all the horror and not post that picture. The flat itself is adorable, comfy, and floppy. No, the last word is not a good thing. It seems like it fits well - until you try to walk in it, and then my heel kept flying out of the shoe. This is being returned.
I have been falling in love with all of Miss Albright's footwear recently and this is no exception. I love these boots and have been wearing these endlessly. This is a size 9. I usually size up for socked shoes - and the fact that I couldn't find an 8.5 - but these are probably TTS, as the 9's are a tad big on me. You can see the boot gaping a bit around the calf. I have weensy calves and the picture actually makes it look not so bad - it's a bit worse in real life, but I still love them anyways. This boot does need more padding though. I wandered around the mall for about an hour or two in them and my feet were whining after the first hour. I still love them, although I worry about the durability of these boots. The leather is not lined inside, and the full zip on the back seems really weak. Hopefully they'll hold up!
Yay for the return of yellow pictures! And awkward angles! Anyways, these shoes make me sigh. Sadly. So much promise, unrealized. :( They are SO pretty. But just a mess. I finally got an 8.5 on the second try, although I have to wonder if it's still the same size 7 they tried to ship me before. The leather is very stiff, despite all that gaping you see around the ankle in the first picture? I had to unlace the entire boot to get my foot in. Bit of a pain. It was a very tight fit in the toe box once I finally got my foot - no socked - in. I'd advising sizing up. The arch of the boot felt really high to me, as the top of my foot was being shoved hard up against the laces. It was not comfortable to walk around in. The lace is gorgeous, pure white, and the mesh behind it is transparent. I didn't find that a problem because I probably was not going to wear multi-colored or bright socks with these shoes, but some may find it a bit offsetting. AND for the kicker - if you read online reviews for this bootie, you may have seen that some people complained about the leather staining onto the lace. It happened on this shoe. Pure white lace all around - except for a light brown stain on the lace of one shoe. It's not terribly obvious, but it puts it into your head the question of what else might stain and muck up the lace. :( I wish I had taken a picture of the stain, but sadly, it went back already.
Thanks for the reviews - it is hard to take good pictures of shoes while you're wearing them! The mint colored shoes are really cute. I was wary of those Lace Lover's Booties and you have reassured me about not purchasing them. Sorry they didn't work out. : (
ReplyDeletelove the pot of gold seychelles! You've been busy shoe shopping. It's so funny, I hadn't thought much about how other bloggers take pics of their shoes. I think I only notice when I like the pics, :D
